“Ecosystem quality” is the Area of Protection that accounts for impacts on the natural environment. The endpoint unit used here is PDF (potentially disappeared fraction of species). This metric accounts for a fraction of species richness that may be potentially lost due to an environmental mechanism. In LC-Impact a new approach was developed how PDF is calculated, by using global, actual species values for calculating fractions instead of local values.
